__________________________

I am biologist by training (diploma) and have a Ph.D. in microbiology, both obtained at the University of Potsdam and the Alfred-Wegner-Institute in Potsdam, respectively. Since late 2014 I am a member of the Research Group Astrobiology at TU Berlin. My main interests are in microbial survivability and activity under stress conditions like desiccation, low temperature and high salt concentrations, and what astrobiological implications they provide when compared to conditions which for instance can be found on recent Mars or other planetary bodies of our solar system.
