Pre-Seminar: Astronomy & Astrobiology in the Atacama Desert

Astronomy and Astrobiology in the Atacama Desert - Pre-Seminar: Southern sky observations, VLT and ALMA, solar eclipse, desert soil habitability, extremophile microbiology, hyperarid desert sedimentology and geomorphology, Mars surface processes. Each student will select a topic relevant for the field trip and prepare a presentation given in the seminar. Also required is the preparation of a corresponding interim report as a section for the field guide.
Performance:
Student talks supervised by professors and scientific staff.
Target group:
This module aims to primarily address master students in the fields of Astronomy, Bio- or Geosciences.
