Astronomy and Astrobiology in the Atacama Desert - Field-Trip: Southern sky observations, VLT and ALMA, solar eclipse, desert soil habitability, extremophile microbiology, hyperarid desert sedimentology and geomorphology, Mars surface processes. The students will perform hands-on celestial observation and interpret the underlying sedimentological and tectonic processes creating specific landscapes. Each student will present the topic selected during the seminar on-site and lead the discussion in this section.
Target group:
This module aims to primarily address master students in the fields of Astronomy, Bio- or Geosciences.
