Content:
Molecular cloud physics, gravitational collapse, formation, and evolution of proto-stars, accretion disks and jets, properties of young stars and stellar systems, initial mass function, Milky Way star formation, galactic star formation.
Conditions:
Knowledge of physics and mathematics, and of the Physics/B.Sc. module Einführung in die Astronomie und Astrophysik advised.
Performance:
Two-hour lecture with two-hour exercise.
Target group:
Postgraduate lecture on astronomy and astrophysics. Advanced lecture of the module Advanced Astronomy and Astrophysics (Physics/Master). Open also for all students with interest in astronomy and astrophysics.
Note:
This course consists of a two-hour lecture (12:00-14:00) and a two-hour exercise (14:00-16:00).
