The in-person Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Seminar on the topic “From the Heliosphere to Astrospheres – Lessons for Exoplanets and their Habitability” at the Physics Center in Bad Honnef from 16. – 20. January 2023 will be co-organized by SPP member Konstantin Herbst of Uni Kiel. From the announcement:
“The seminar aims to address a major aspect of research on extrasolar planets: the impact of stellar and interstellar space weather on exoplanetary habitability, magnetospheres, and atmospheres. One of the key goals of this seminar is to provide a forum for lively discussions between researchers working on topics like the propagation of energetic particles, stellar activity, exo-planetary observability, magnetospheres, atmospheric interactions, chemistry, and climate to gain new insight into the observability of stellar space weather and its impact on the observations of signs of life (biosignatures).
Everybody is welcome to join the seminar; however, we particularly want to encourage students (Ba/MA/Ph.D.) to participate. So please apply here for admittance.
Note that for all participants, complimentary on-site and full-board accommodation is provided by the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation and that there is no conference fee. However, the total number of participants is limited, and everyone wanting to participate in the Seminar must present a poster or a talk; thus, submitting an abstract is mandatory.
The application deadline is the 20th of November.“
