On its way south, the roadshow reaches Munich. In this city of over a million inhabitants, several Max Planck Institutes and a Cluster of Excellence provide a diverse programme with the most exciting findings from astronomical research.
The international highlight of the region is the European Southern Observatory ESO with its headquarters in Garching near Munich. The ESO operates various modern observatories in the Chilean Andes in an alliance of 16 member states: in La Silla, on the Paranal and on the Chajnator.
Researchers from these facilities will report on their current research in lectures and presentations during the roadshow directly on site.
