The SPP 1992 at the Roadshow Potsdam

From Wednesday, 17th May, to Sunday, 21st May, the Roadshow „Universe on Tour“, part of the 2023 Science Year „Our Universe“, had its second tour stop at the Luisenplatz in Potsdam.

In a tent, a mobile planetarium was set up to show a 30-minutes show spanning different fields of astrophysics, while a second tent hosted an exhibition on electromagnetic radiation and its application in astrophysics, as well as examples of astrophysical research by local institutes.

Of course, this was not without contributions by the exoplanet diversity network. Tina Rückriemen-Bez and Ludwig Scheibe took turns crewing the exhibition tent and presenting exoplanet research to the interested public, especially highlighting recent discoveries arising from the German community. The event was also publicized by the RBB program „Brandenburg aktuell“ on Thursday.

The tour stop was a huge success, with well over 6000 visitors in total according to the organizers. We had an exciting time engaging and discussing with the people attending the event, bringing our research and efforts in space science closer to a very interested audience.
