SPP 1992 visitor program

The SPP 1992 offers funding for a visitor program, where either you host external researchers visiting your group, or you yourselves visit another institution for some time.

There are still funds available, and we encourage you to apply. This is a great opportunity to fund cross-institute research cooperation and to facilitate a scientific exchange of ideas.

What is the SPP 1992 visitor program about?

The idea is to invite visitors to stay longer at one or two institutes participating in the SPP 1992. In addition, visitors should also use part of their time in the SPP to go on short visits to other institutes involved in the SPP 1992. In addition to the international visitor program, we also want to give you (especially the early career researchers) the opportunity to visit either collaboration partners within the SPP 1992 or international partners (not part of the SPP 1992 consortium) for a longer period of time.

We call for applications:

  • Inviting international visitors staying at one institute involved with the SPP 1992  for a longer period (up to three month, maximum costs per visitor: 5000€) in 2023/24
  • Visiting collaborating partners within the SPP 1992 or international collaboration partners for a longer period (up to three month, maximum costs per visit: 5000€) in 2023/24

The proposal should contain:

  • Inviting international visitors:
    • name of the visitor and affiliation
    • short statement regarding collaboration
    • anticipated duration & planned SPP 1992 institute to be visited & anticipated costs
  • Visiting SPP 1992 or international partners:
    • name of partner and institute (that should be visited)
    • short statement regarding collaboration
    • anticipated duration & anticipated costs

What do we expect?

  • For you: First and foremost that you have fruitful exchange with colleagues, added value for your own work, and strengthen your network.
  • For the SPP 1992: A seminar given by the visitor (or you or your collaborators if you are visiting another place) in our seminar series and a short (and lively) report on either the time with the visitor or your time as a visiting person. In case of the latter, our outreach team is happy to help with the creation of the text.

The proposal can be a simple email providing the information given above. The statement regarding collaboration can be kept really short (not more than half a page). You can also use bullet points to illustrate your ideas for collaboration. You can send your proposal to Tina (tina.rueckriemen-bez@tu-berlin.de) until September 03, 2023.
