Exoplanets at the ILA 2024

At the Aeronautics Exhibition in Berlin, members of the SPP 1992 brought exoplanet research to a big audience.

Kai Noeske from ESA demonstrates the transit method for finding exoplanets with the help of Ludwig Scheibe (SPP 1992) and an audience member.

The ILA, or International Aerospace Exhibition, is a giant event taking place every two years next to the Berlin-Brandenburg Airport in Schönefeld. And last week, from 05th to 09th June, it was happening again. The ILA regularly brings together all kinds of researchers, industry representatives, startups, journalists, and government shareholders interested in the fields of aviation, space travel and space exploration.

Among them, this year, were also several members of our SPP 1992, presenting our wonderful research at the ILA Space stage: On Saturday, Miriam Rengel and Ludwig Scheibe talked on the ILA Space stage about the principles and aims of exoplanet research, and on Sunday, our coordinator Heike Rauer together with Miriam presented various space missions that will bring forward exoplanet research, as well as answered questions from the interested audience about all things space research.

Many thanks to all the participants in those events!
