Coming up: A new planetarium show “diversity of exoplanets”

The SPP 1992, in cooperation with Dr Björn Voss of the Planetarium Hamburg and the Society of German-Speaking Planetariums, is in the process of developing a planetarium show focused on exoplanet research and the diversity of exoplanets. The goal is to show the range of conditions of planets found in our galaxy, as well as demonstrate the scientific process of discovering, characterizing & learning about these planets by showing the methods used in our community and how these puzzle pieces can be put together to create a larger whole.

Towards this end, we had a highly engaging brainstorming session during our All-hands-meeting in the mid of march, gathering knowledge about planets and the methods used to study them, as well as examples that can be used to highlight different aspects of this research. A lot of participants were eagerly discussing and sharing ideas and we thank everyone who contributed.

Stay tuned for more infos over the course of development and of course for the big announcement, once the show is finished.
