From 18th to 20th September, the Lüscher Lectures took place in Dillingen on the Danube at the Akademie für Lehrerfortbildung und Personalführung (Academy for teacher training and personnel management). It’s an advanced training course on the topic of astrophysics for Bavarian teachers. In eight specialist lectures, newest results and insights from astronomy and astrophysics were conveyed. The 25 teachers present – there are always more registrations than places – have used this to familiarize themselves with the current state of research. A range of topics from dark matter and asteroids it to gravitational waves, extrasolar planets and planet formation were covered. The speakers for the latter two topics were from our own SPP 1992, Ruth Titz-Weider (DLR, Berlin) and Til Birnstiel (LMU, München).
