The programme of the advanced training will meet the various requirements and framework conditions of astronomical education in Germany. It includes: Physics in space: fascinating and current cosmic applications of physics, Astronomy as a subject combination: multi- and interdisciplinary research projects, Astronomy and space travel: technology of space travel. On occasion, there will also be an observation evening in a dome of the neighbouring national observatory.
The concept of the training provides for plenary lectures in the mornings and plenty of free space for exchange and application in the afternoons, as well as further small lectures for different interest groups in three or four parallel sessions. Sufficiently long breaks as well as special joint events on Friday evening will ensure an exchange of ideas outside the panels as well as some relaxation.
According to the possibilities of the HdA, a maximum of 100 participants from all over Germany can take part in the training. About 40 of them come from nationwide teacher networks, some of which have been supported by the HdA for several years. We also expect the remaining participants to make sustainable use of and disseminate the training content in their home schools.
