Inhalt:
Frequency and statistics of binary stars in the Galaxy. Different types and subtypes of binary stars. Determination of basic stellar parameters based on binary stars. Mass transfer and Roch-lobe overflow. Parameter extraction from light curves. Exoplanet transit modeling. Dynamical evolution of binary and triple systems. Stellar evolution in multiple stellar systems. Special types of binary stars (Be stars, X-ray binaries, contact binaries, common envelope objects etc.).
Voraussetzungen:
Grundkenntnisse in Physik und Mathematik. Kenntnis der Vorlesung Grundlagen der Astronomie und Astrophysik erwünscht.
Art der Durchführung:
Zweistündige Vorlesung.
Zielgruppe:
Wählbare Vorlesung als Teil des Moduls Astronomie und Astrophysik im Master-Studiengang. Sonstige Studierende mit Interesse an Astronomie und Astrophysik.
